Clean Recycling

June 30, 2018

From Tamyra Rhodes-O'Neill, the goal of this project is to promote clean recycling through the purchase and delivery of Paper recycling lids for the classroom bins. This project will ensure that students pay more attention to what they are throwing away and where it should go. The thin slit and bottle whole makes students stop and think instead of blindly tossing items in the closest receptacle. This will increase program sustainability and educate students on what should go where, hopefully increasing their capacity to transfer this learning into other places where they find these bins in the community and maybe even promoting home recycling programs.

Our Green Team will hold a recycling assembly to roll out the bin lids and educate students and staff on the importance of recycling. Hopefully the combined efforts of the assembly and the lids will increase student knowledge and produce cleaner recycling ensuring a sustainable program for the future.
