LCEL Nature Club Rain Garden Refresh

November 06, 2017

Prep:
We built a rain erosion garden last year. Now we need to have the existing mulch raked back and the area tilled around the plants. The ground is very tough. Compost from resoil and work on adding to our compost area.

The kids will then:
· Reform the berm
· Help mix the existing soil and compost
· Plant 3-4 new plants (Joe Pye-weed, butterfly milkweed, Yarrow)
· Cover with mulch

Intended impact of project

Reduced environmental impact
Increased environmental & sustainability literacy
