Philbrick School Habitat Garden

The Philbrick School is requesting funding to create a Habitat Garden on the grounds of the school; an outdoor space for all community members (e.g. students, teachers, staff and parents) to learn, work, and play while connecting to nature in meaningful ways. Students in all grades will have the opportunity to utilize the gardens as corresponds to the science, math and literacy curriculum. Various grade levels will be able to use the garden as a resource throughout the day for lessons in science, descriptive, sensory writing and measuring and and data collection in math. We currently have 8 raised beds and t semi raised garden beds that we are prepping to fill with plants native to the region to attract wildlife. Since we are in the city of Boston our hope to be a part of a larger pollinator's corridor.
