SUSTAINABILITY MOVEMENT- Latin Patriarchate School Shafa Badran
A team of volunteers from Dar Al Handasah - Amman office Joined the Sustainability Movement 2018 Campaign to work on a Sustainability & Environmental awareness project at "Latin Patriarchate School Shafa Badran" . The team worked on a set plan to provide the largest possible impact on the Students. The day of service starts with an interactive presentation covering the main environmental and sustainability opportunities encountered on a daily basis, followed by a hands-on activity to motivate students to become future green leaders

The event started with an interactive presentation which ensured the students have an understanding on the types of Pollution and how to THINK GREEN & ACT GREEN. The students then were distributed in to smaller groups to work on three hands on activities focusing on : Water Audit, Green Art, Planting.
Activity 1: (Water Audit) The event gave a simple & Basic strategy to audit water leakage & Consumption
Activity2: (Creating environmental Art & painting) Students spent time to think about the environment and to express how they can live in a greener school, drawings & paintings were placed at the school bulletin board
Activity3: (PLANTING) students planted a selection of Native plants in the school Garden to increase the green areas.
The event ended by a briefing session were all participating students received a sustainable (reusable) shopping bag. Students promised to stop using the plastic bags and will encourage there parents to use the reusable bags when they go shopping, student received a certificate for participation for the great involvement and commitment.
