Garden of Inspiration
Project began from an Ecology class Problem Based Learning Project in order to reduce the ecological footprint at the school. The short-term goal was to grow garden-to-table food organically at the school while the long-term goal was to be able to serve garden produce and compost food waste. Throughout Autumn, students worked on building the garden in which they eventually set up a sturdy fence around their chosen 972 square foot site

The project addresses the importance of reducing the school’s ecological footprint. This goal will be achieved through growing food in the garden and serving it for lunch, as well as through composting. Additionally, the issue of fertilizer use is also examined and emphasized in that the reduction of it comes a reduction of nitrogen and phosphorus that can harm our environment.
